Ivon Hengkessa

Volunteers from Berkat Ambon visited Mrs. Ivon Hengkessa, who was born in Namlea on June 5, 1970. Mrs. Ivon currently lives with her mother and two children. She is unable to walk due to pain in both legs (diagnosed by a doctor as gout). Since March 24, 2024, she has been suffering from this condition.

Previously, Mrs. Ivon worked as a street sweeper, but because of her illness, her mother, Mrs. Dika Maulani (82 years old), has taken over the job to ensure they still have income for medicine and daily needs. They are also supported by Mrs. Ivon's two beloved children who work for a company.

Mrs. Dika and Mrs. Ivon are among the widows regularly served by Berkat Ambon through monthly grocery donations. Currently, Mrs. Ivon longs to take supplements to help her health, but the high cost has made this impossible so far. Berkat Ambon ministers to Mrs. Ivon personally through prayer and seeking the mercy of the Lord Jesus. We believe in the power of Jesus Christ to heal and restore, and that His stripes are enough for Mrs. Ivon. Anyone who wishes to share love and help Mrs. Ivon can contact Berkat Ambon via Messenger. May the Lord Jesus bless and love us all.

Update 4/8/25:

Berkat Ambon volunteers brought medicine and donations for Mrs. Ivon Hengkesa. Heartfelt thanks to donators which aided in providing funds to purchase herbal medicine. Truly, the longing in their hearts has been answered by the Lord. At this place, Mrs. Ivon lives with her mother, Mrs. Dika Maulani, and her two children. Mrs. Ivon used to work as a street sweeper, but due to her illness, her elderly mother—who is over 80 years old—has taken over her work to support the family. Through the prayers of many, the Lord Jesus has heard and answered. Mrs. Ivon is now healed and recovering well.

A Prayer for Hope: Lord, I maintain my hope in You and I hold onto the assurance that You are my Rock and my Refuge who bends His ear when the afflicted call out Your Name. As David prayed in Psalm 18:1: “I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”
