From the information we received, Berkat Ambon volunteers visited Valentiano Billy Roy Gere (24 years old), who has been diagnosed with spinal tuberculosis (TB of the bone). His father, Matheis Marthen Gere (47 years old), works as a day laborer, and his mother, Theresia Suripatty (42 years old), is self-employed.
Valen’s illness began after an accident two years ago, which left a wound on his knee. Due to improper treatment and care, a small wound eventually worsened, turning into an abscess. On December 22, he underwent surgery to clean the abscess and was treated as an outpatient. However, after the surgery, he experienced a high fever for several days due to an infection, with fluid and pus still present in the wound.
Because they were waiting for BPJS to become active and had financial constraints, Valen continued outpatient care. Once BPJS became active, the surgeon referred him to an orthopedic specialist. After consulting with the orthopedic doctor, an X-ray was recommended to assess his bone condition. Now, a week after BPJS activation, he has finally been referred to the hospital’s polyclinic for further examinations.
The results of his tests have not been retrieved yet, but based on the X-ray findings, doctors strongly suspect spinal tuberculosis (TB of the bone). He is still awaiting a lung X-ray and CT scan to determine the next steps for treatment.
Let’s support Valen through prayers and financial assistance. May the Lord Jesus open doors for Valen and his family so that he can receive the right medical treatment. At this time, Valen urgently needs gauze rolls, wound-cleaning solution, wet and dry tissues, bandages, underpads, a walking cane, and a neck pillow. Those who wish to help can reach out to Berkat Ambon. May the Lord Jesus bless and provide for Valen and his family.
Update 1/28/25:
Medical supplies and medication support from Berkat Ambon and donations of underpads from ML in Kdmati and Paullo have been delivered to Valen. May the Lord Jesus bless everything Valen has received—by His wounds, may Valen be healed and restored.
The Lord Jesus has already carried your pain and that of all other patients on the cross. Many prayers will bring change for Valen. A heartfelt thank you to all of those who continue to donate through Berkat Ambon, allowing help to reach those in need. May the Lord Jesus love and bless us all.
