Age: 11

Xavi lives in the village of Namtabung. He lives with his mother who currently works as a farmer. Xavi is currently suffering from a large tumor in his abdomen. Though it is best for Xavi to undergo surgery or at the very least receive treatment, they are constrained by financial difficulties. We are currently raising funds for Xavi to travel to Ambon for medical examinations, to receive treatment, and to undergo surgery as soon as possible. Update 9/8/24: Praise God, finally Xavi, his mom, and a companion from the family will go to Ambon for Xavi's medical check-up. May the Lord Jesus be with them on their journey to Ambon, and may all the medical examinations and treatments go smoothly. May Xavi be healed in the name of Jesus.

Update 9/22/24: Praise the Lord, Xavie has arrived safely in Ambon. May the Lord Jesus help Xavie to visit the hospital for the next check-up tomorrow. The cost of accommodation and transportation from Namtabung to Saumlaki to Ambon for Xavie, his mother, and the companion is being covered by BerkatAmbon.

Update 10/7/24: Xavi Refualu/Matrutty is still waiting for the BPJS (Indonesian Health Insurance) to become active on October 15, after which Xavi can undergo further examination and receive the necessary treatment.

Update 10/23/24: Yesterday, Xafi began his examination at the Digestive Surgery Clinic and already had a CT scan. Today, he received the results and will consult further with the doctor about his treatment plan. Praise Jesus, Xafi can now receive timely treatment, and if all goes well, he will be able to undergo surgery next Monday and return to school afterwards.

Update 10/24/24: Praise the Lord, Xavi has been admitted to the inpatient room in preparation for surgery this coming Monday. Thank you so much to all brothers and sisters who continually pray for Berkat Ambon’s patients and donate through Berkat Ambon. Your blessings have been a tremendous help to all the patients under Berkat Ambon’s care. May Jesus continue to love and bless us all.

Update 10/26/24: Praise the Lord, Xafi’s surgery is complete. The fluid in Xafi’s kidney had reached nearly 10,000 ml, and one of his kidneys was no longer functioning, so it was removed. May Jesus oversee Xafi’s recovery process—may He hear the prayers of many, and may His healing stripes bring restoration to Xafi. In addition to prayers, Berkat Ambon is also assisting with meals for Xafi's mother as she supports him through his recovery. Nothing is impossible for the Lord Jesus.

Update 11/1/24: Praise God, Xafi’s tube in his stomach has been removed, and Xafi is now more energetic. Thank you so much, Lord Jesus; seeing Xafi like this is truly a blessing. Thank you so much, everyone, for your prayers. May Lord Jesus love and bless us all; stay healthy and strong.

Update 11/4/24: Praise the Lord, Xafi has been allowed to go home and will return later for a follow-up checkup. The Lord Jesus has brought Xafi safely back to Ambon and guided the surgery process. We trust that God will be with Xafi until he fully recovers and can return to his village to continue his schooling.

Update 11/22/24: The Berkat Ambon volunteers once again visited young Xavi Matrutty, a child from Namtabung village - KKT, who recently underwent abdominal surgery at Leimena Hospital to remove nearly 10,000 ml of fluid. Xavi's condition has now improved. He will undergo further examinations and have the stitches on his abdomen removed.

Update 11/25/24:

Praise God, Xavi has been allowed to go home. The plan is to return to the village of Namtabung on December 5. For those who wish to help Xavi and his mother, you can reach out via Messenger through Berkat Ambon.

12/10/24:

Praise the Lord, today Xafi is finally able to return to the village of Namtabung after undergoing a long treatment process. Berkat Ambon assisted with the travel expenses from Ambon to Namtabung for Xafi, his mother, and one companion, Oktovina Matrutty, a former Berkat Ambon patient who was treated for mandibular tumors since around 2018. May the Lord Jesus accompany their journey and bring them safely home.
